125th Anniversary
"O God Our Help..."
Blessed to be a Blessing!
Bethesda Celebrated 125 Years!!
We honor the memories of so many "saints" who have served to keep this church and ministry alive for 125 years! The theme for our year of celebration was taken from Hebrews 12, "Such a Great Cloud of Witnesses"... We celebrated all past, current, and future "witnesses."
We kicked off the year of celebration on Sunday, February 20th, 2011 with a special Worship Service unveiling the two Anniversary banners, one inside, one outside; along with the choir singing our anniversary hymn "O God, Our Help in Ages Past." A few of the youth presented a short skit and Coffee Hour featured mixed fruit and an anniversary cake.
Events for the year included:
Sunday, May 8, 2011 during the Coffee Hour we had a special video presentation and tables around the fellowship hall displayed artifacts and memorabilia. A timeline was mounted on the fellowship wall.
We had an anniversary float in the Carlton Daze Parade.
Sunday, November 6th, 2011 "All Saint's Day" in keeping with our Anniversary theme we lifted up all our "saints/witnesses". A banner with our clouds of witnesses hung in the sanctuary.
The concluding event was held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 ending the Anniversary Year with a special worship, music, speakers, and banquet!
125 years of mission and ministry is cause for all to rejoice and celebrate!
