The Book of Faith Initiative

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away" Mark 13:31

In 2007 the ELCA churchwide assembly voted to embrace an initiative call Book of Faith. The bold vision for this 5 year plan is:

That the whole church become more fluent in the first language of faith, the language of Scripture, in order that we might live into our calling as a people renewed, enlivened, and sent by the Word.

Please use the link below to get more information regarding this initiative and use the resources available to help you on your journey through the Book of Faith.

The following “Where Can We Begin?” assessment is being used to gather information about your Bible usage, needs, and hopes. The online survey form will allow you to complete your accessment and submit it by email to be reviewed by Scott Kiehn, Director of Discipleship scott.kiehn@bethesdacarlton.org.  If you prefer, you may open the printable version of this survey and either mail or drop the completed form off at the church. Results of the assessment, which can be completed anonymously, will be used to discover the needs of our faith community and planning accordingly.
