Catfish & Catechism

We met at the church at 6:00 pm and carpooled to the St Louis River for a fun evening of fellowship & fishing.  A few venison brats were also roasted over a fire and eaten!  Our Catechism lesson - God Our Maker was a discussion centered around the first article of The Apostles’ Creed, “I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth”.  And we even caught some fish.                                                                                                                           

 

                  ANNUAL ICE FISHING TRIP

                         FEB 18-21, 2010

 

 

The group was truly blessed again with a great retreat filled with fine fellowship, sunny days, bible study with time of prayer, and some fantastic fishing.

This year the group spent some time studying Jeremiah 1: 4 - 19 "Jeremiah's Call & Commission" through a series of four sessions which examined the passage from a devotional, historical, literary, and Lutheran theological perspective.

Total catch: 8 Lake Trout and 5 Brook Trout.  We may have fallen short of totals from years past, but we definitely couldn't complain about the mild weather and had enough fish for the Saturday night fish boil!

VENISON BRAT MAKING - March 20, 2010

 

Twelve partisipants and one observer gathered in the church kitchen on Saturday March 20th for the first session of venison sausage making for 2010. The group made a record 244 lbs including: regular, wild rice, and cheese/sauerkraut bratwurst, as well as hot Italian, cajun, and breakfast sausage.  As usual, everyone enjoyed making their own sausage and of course eating samples of each type.
